Milan, March 4, 2026 – HWG Sababa – an Italian company providing managed services, strategic solutions and consulting in the field of cybersecurity – strengthens its strategic positioning in advanced cybersecurity for critical domains with the appointment of General Alfredo Ramponi as Honorary Chairman and Strategic Advisor, and the establishment of a new Business Unit dedicated to Space, Defence and Cyber Threat Intelligence.
This strategic decision comes at a national and international juncture marked by growing geopolitical instability and an increasing convergence between the Space, Defence and Cyber sectors, which are now central to the protection of critical infrastructures, national security and technological sovereignty.
In this context, the appointment of Alfredo Ramponi represents significant added value, thanks to his distinguished professional background, combining investigative experience, institutional intelligence expertise and the development of advanced cyber capabilities – key elements in addressing security challenges in the most strategic and sensitive sectors.
Alessio Aceti, CEO of HWG Sababa, commented: “It is an honour for us to welcome General Ramponi to our team. We are confident that his extensive experience at the highest institutional levels in the fields of Defence and Cyber will mark a turning point in strengthening HWG Sababa’s role as a key player in national security for private companies and institutions. His proven expertise in strategic sectors and his widely recognised authority will be instrumental in creating new high-profile synergies and partnerships that will accelerate the Group’s growth”.
Alfredo Ramponi, Honorary Chairman and Board Advisor of HWG Sababa, added: “From my very first interaction with HWG Sababa, I recognised the potential of this organisation, which has all the credentials to become a leading player in the country’s cybersecurity landscape. I therefore enthusiastically accepted the opportunity to also lead the new Business Unit dedicated to the Defence and Space sectors: a new chapter in my long professional career, which I approach with initiative, determination and a strong sense of responsibility, placing my skills and experience at the service of strengthening organisations’ digital resilience and making a tangible contribution to the security of the national system”.
The Senior Officer served at the Carabinieri Scientific Investigations Centre and the Scientific Investigations Group (RIS), contributing to the establishment of the RIS in Parma. Following investigations into the Capaci and Via D’Amelio attacks, as well as the attacks in Via Fauro and at the Basilica of St. John Lateran, he played a key role within the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate. He subsequently held senior positions at the Internal Security Intelligence Agency (AISI), including Head of Cyber Activities.
He will also lead the new Business Unit, which will be based in Rome and is scheduled to be inaugurated in April. Highly specialised professionals will operate from this office, with the objective of anticipating and countering the most sophisticated threats in the advanced cybersecurity landscape. The choice of Rome as the operational base is driven by the significant presence of institutional bodies and potential strategic partners, as well as the availability of highly qualified professionals. HWG Sababa thus strengthens its direct territorial presence in Lazio and central Italy, where it already operates through its subsidiary Akito, specialised in cybersecurity services for SMEs and the Public Administration.
